John, chapter 1
This is the day that the LORD has made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. Thank you for the blessing of Your Word Father God and as we read and meditate on Your Word, we are moving from glory to glory in the name of Jesus, Amen. Glory to God.
John 1:6-8 (NKJV)
"There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
This man came for a witness, to bear witness the Light, that all through him might believe.
He was not that light but was sent to bear witness of that Light."
Amen, thank you LORD.
John, was a man sent by God whose purpose was to witness the Light. This witness that John speaks of is the Light who is Christ, the Word of God as seen in John 1:1 and Genesis 1:3. 1 John 5:10 (NKJV) further speaks of a witness and says, "He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because He has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son." John's primary assignment from God was to make way for Jesus, the Light of the world by baptizing people and asking them to repent of their sins. John 1:7 above shows us the power of God in John's ministry as the people who heard his message believed him even though John was not that Light. When John was asked about his identity by the religious leaders at the time, the Pharisees, he responded and said to them, "...I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know. It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose."
Whenever John was asked concerning his identity, whether he was Elijah, the prophet or Christ, he always responded, he was not any of them thereby glorifying the name of Jesus. This action of John the Baptist giving the glory to Jesus whenever he was asked questions about himself and through his water baptism of repentance of sins with the people was bearing witness of the true Light.
I'll end with this verse in 2 Corinthians 4:5-6 (NKJV)
"For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus' sake.
For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
Amen, thank you LORD.

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
