Leviticus 2
Father God, thank you for the Word. Thank you for sending Jesus, Your Son, the light of the world in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Leviticus 2:10 (NKJV)
"And what is left on the grain offering shall be Aaron's and his sons'. It is the most holy of the offerings to the LORD made by fire."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Chapter 2 speaks of the requirements of anyone who was offering grain to the LORD would follow. I'll begin with the offering given to the priests that is the Aaron and his sons. God did not call the sacrifice given to Him, most holy but the one given to His servants, this God referred to as most holy. This shows God values, honours His servants and values the work they do.
Concerning the grain offering requirements, one would present to the priests, Aaron and his sons, the handful of fine flour, oil with frankincense. This would be put on the altar by the priests as an offering made by fire, seasoned with salt and a sweet aroma to the LORD (Leviticus 2:2 & 13). For those who decided to offer a grain offering in baked form, ensured that no leaven was used during the process. Leaven adds to the baked good by making it bigger and I believe this shows that God prefers the simplicity and beauty of how He uniquely created each of His children.
At the same time, Jesus in the new Testament warned His disciples to beware of the leaven of religious leaders at the time. In this case, Jesus was referring to the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees (Mark 16:11) and in Luke 12:1, the Pharisees leaven was hypocrisy. This leaven has the ability to leaven the whole lump (Galatians 5:9). Thankfully, Apostle Paul prayed for us as a church regarding any "leaven" in Galatians 5:10 (NKJV) and says, "I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is."- Amen.
When you look at chapters 1 and 2 of Leviticus concerning the offerings, it was about giving what God had blessed them with that is, the animals, grains and birds. After God sent His Beloved, Son Jesus, we see that every blessing that God has in store for His children is about receiving. Under the new covenant, God is no longer interested in offering sacrifices because God does not need to be impressed. Jesus Christ is now the perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 10:14), He is also the High Priest of our calling who lives on making intercession for the saints (Hebrews 2:17). Christ is also now the sweet aroma that pleases God. Apart from Jesus, no other sacrifice that will ever make us right before God, the Father.
However, in order to receive all that God has made available you, your blessings, your purpose and everything that concerns you, you must come to Him and receive the free gift salvation found in His Son, Christ. Jesus said in Matthew 9:12-13 (NKJV), "...Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice. For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to receive Jesus and be born again into God's Kingdom, that is saved and have a personal relationship to know God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to receive salvation. Please say these words with me:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
GLORY TO GOD, You are now a new creation in Christ Jesus! In case you have not already, please prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and get WATER BAPTIZED!
I'll end with Jesus' words found in Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Amen, thank you LORD.
