Leviticus, chapter 10

Praise God family. We thank the LORD for this beautiful day, a day filled with His countenance, His presence, favor, love and joy all around us in the name of Jesus, Amen.

In the previous chapter, we looked at the glory of the LORD revealed when one follows the commands of God by following God's pattern. In case you are wondering, following God's pattern is building your life on God's Word by doing what it says (Matthew 7:24-25). Another way to build according to God's pattern is by following an instruction that God may have specifically shared with you concerning your ministry, work, lifestyle, family, business, career, etc. The glory of the LORD will always follow obedience.

In chapter 10, two of Aaron's sons, Nadab and Abihu offered a profane fire before the LORD which He had not commanded them and they died before the LORD (Leviticus 10:1-2). Now if you are remember Aaron and his sons were chosen by the LORD as the designated priests for the children of Israel. In Leviticus 10:3 (NKJV), "And Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke saying: 'By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; and before all the people I must be glorified.' So Aaron held his peace." No parent is going to discipline the neighbor's child before they discipline their own child and the same applies to God. God's judgment begins at the house of God (1 Peter 4:17).

This chapter also shows us Aaron held his peace. Now, if the Bible says he held his peace, it literally means that. He was not complaining and mourning in silence when nobody was watching. Aaron held his peace and I believe God gave him and his sons this strength as well. 1 Peter 4:16 (NKJV) says, "Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter."

Later on, we see Moses commanding Aaron and the rest of his sons to not uncover their heads nor tear their heads nor tear their clothes lest wrath come upon all the people and they were to stay at the tabernacle of meeting for the anointing oil of the LORD was upon their life (Leviticus 10:6-7). Due to the nature of the priestly office that Aaron and his sons held as anointed and consecrated by God, their grieving and leaving their duty posts would negatively affect the congregation and God's heart is always for the people.

The priestly office is for God's people, not for the priest. Romans 14:7 (NKJV) says, "For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself." Jesus, our High Priest today, modelled this example well when He willingly laid down his life to die a sinner's death on the cross, a death He did not deserve nevertheless He did it so you and I could have freedom and redemption in His blood. Right now, we rejoice that Christ is risen from the dead by Father God so that anyone who would believe in His name would receive eternal life and the forgiveness of sins.

Invitation to salvation: Jesus Christ in John 14:6 (NKJV) says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." If you would like to be born again, please say this confession with me:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and receive Christ today as I become a part of the Kingdom of light where I choose personal relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

GLORY TO GOD, You are now a new creation in Christ Jesus! In case you have not already, please prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and get WATER BAPTIZED!

I'll end with this Word found in Psalm 84:9-11 (NKJV)

9. "O God, behold our shield, and look upon the face of Your anointed.

10. For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11. For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly."
