Leviticus, chapter 11
Updated: Oct 3
This is the day that the LORD has made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. Thank you Father God that in You we live and move and have our being in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Today's lead Word is from Leviticus 11:45 (NKJV)
"For I am the LORD who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Chapter 11 shares the different foods that are allowed to be eaten and the other foods that are not accepted as food according to the commandments of the LORD. I encourage you to read this chapter in your Bibles and see the different categories of accepted and unaccepted foods as seen in the law given by God through Moses. God reminded the children of Israel that He was holy and He did not want them to be made unclean with dead animals and abominable things. It was important to remember the children of Israel at this point were eating food that dropped from heaven that is the manna and meat which was in the form of quail (Exodus 16:12) and this manna stopped dropping every morning from heaven when they first ate the food found in the promised land (Joshua 5:12).
In the new Testament, we are under grace and truth (John 1:14) that has come through faith in Jesus Christ. This new covenant reminds us that the food we eat today as believers does not bring us closer to God or draw us away from Him (1 Corinthians 8:8). We are also reminded that everything that God created is good and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer (1 Timothy 4:4-5). As believers, we are also encouraged to not condemn or judge others for certain food preferences that they may or may not have for the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul reminds us "for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." (Romans 14:7 NKJV).
At the same time, there is a spiritual food which is also known as the bread of life. Jesus says in John 6:35 NKJV says, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." - AMEN.
I'll end with this Word found in Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for the blessing and provision of food, the physical and spiritual food that nourishes our bodies and entire being in the name of Jesus. Thank you that You created food and it is good for us and our bodies so we receive it with thanksgiving as it is sancitified by the Word of God and prayer. For those who may lack physical food, may You feed them and satisfy them according to Your riches in glory in the name of Jesus, amen. Thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: Jesus Christ in John 14:6 (NKJV) says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." If you would like to be born again, please say this confession with me:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and receive Christ today as I become a part of the Kingdom of light where I choose personal relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
GLORY TO GOD, You are now a new creation in Christ Jesus! In case you have not already, please prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and get WATER BAPTIZED!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO READ THIS CHAPTER IN YOUR BIBLES!
