Praise the LORD family. Thank you LORD for the entrance of Your Word brings light and may Your light shine in every area of our lives in the name of Jesus, Amen.

This chapter shares on the requirements the women ought to follow according to the law after child birth. This is the first time we see the law speaking about a woman approaching the priest to make an offering to God. If the woman gave birth to a male child, she will be unclean for seven (7) days according to the days of her impurity and on the eighth day she would have the flesh of the baby's foreskin circumcised (Leviticus 12:2-3). She would then continue in the blood of her purification for thirty-three (33) days with a male child and sixty-six (66) days with a female child.

Leviticus 12:6 (NKJV) says, "When the days of her purification are fulfilled, whether for a son or a daughter, she shall bring to the priest a lamb of the first year as a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtle dove as a sin offering, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting." This is the first time we see a woman personally bring an offering to the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

In the book of Genesis, one of the curses that came as a result of eating the forbidden fruit concerning the woman's life was she would experience pain during child bearing (Genesis 3:16). In 1 Timothy 2:14-15 (AMP) says, "and it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman who was led astray and fell into sin. But women will be preserved (saved) through [the pain and dangers of] the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and holiness with self-control and discretion."

Now, this is one of the many verses I read in the Bible and ask the Lord for more understanding when it comes to saving the woman and its relationship with childbirth. From my understanding so far, I believe the LORD is showing us that the curse that came as a result of sin has been redeemed off of the woman who believes in the faith of the Lord Jesus in holiness and self-control and discretion. I'm reminded of Rachel, Jacob's wife who had hard labor. (Genesis 35:16). Right before this, the LORD had told Jacob to go to Bethel to dwell there and to purify themselves as a family by putting away all the foreign gods among them and to change their garments (Genesis 35:1-2). One would wonder where Jacob, a man with God's heart, encountered these idols but Genesis 31:34 tells us that Rachel had stolen her father's household idols.

Later on, the LORD God appears to Jacob and blesses him and changes his name from Jacob to Israel (Genesis 35:9-10). Genesis 35:11 (NKJV) says, "Also God said to him: "I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body."

Is it a coincidence that shortly after God had blessed Jacob, Rachel, his beloved wife who introduced idol worship in his home passes away during hard labor, leaving behind Israel's last born, Benjamin?

All this is to say I believe this commandment of the LORD in chapter 12 is a reminder that there is hope in the LORD's redemption found in Christ concerning the preservation of woman and childbearing.

I'll end with this Word of the LORD found in;

Genesis 2:20 (NKJV)

"And Adam called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living."

1 Corinthians 15:45 (NKJV)

"And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: Jesus Christ in John 14:6 (NKJV) says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." If you would like to be born again, please say this confession with me:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and receive Christ today as I become a part of the Kingdom of light where I choose personal relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
