Leviticus, chapter 27
How great is our God. Glory, hallelujah.
"Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." (Psalm 100:3-5 NKJV). AMEN
First of all, we thank God who has given us the ability to read and understand His Word in the book of Leviticus as this is the final chapter. Feel free to go over the posts and share with a friend, the more merrier! Amen.
Today's lead Word is from Leviticus 27:30 (NKJV)
"And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's. It is holy to the LORD."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Tithe has to do with giving to the LORD some of the blessings that He has given to you and according to the law a tenth. When to came to animals, Leviticus 27:32 (NKJV) says, "And concerning the tithe of the herd or flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the LORD." I believe we may agree that as a child of God, everything you have and receive is from God? - Amen. John 3:27 (NKJV) says, "a man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven."
Since we know that everything we have is from God, then we should not struggle to give because we are only giving some of that which the LORD has already blessed us with. In the book of Malachi, the LORD speaks to His people and reminds them His law and commandments which included the observance of tithing. The LORD says to them, "Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, that they may be food in My house, and try Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:10).
The LORD promises that for all who tithe, He will rebuke the devourer for their sakes so that He will not destroy the fruit of their ground nor fail to bear fruit for you in the field (Malachi 3:11). The LORD promises to bless His people with fruitfulness and increase when they tithe. The LORD also promises to keep the devourer away from your health, from your finances and from all that concerns you.
The new Testament does not speak of tithing a tenth of your earnings or livestock to the LORD. At the same time, Jesus reminds us that "...to whom much is given, much is required." (Luke 12:48). As a born again child of God, whatever God gives to you, He has entrusted to you as a faithful steward. If it is your business, your car, your career, your marriage, your children, your ministry, these are all things that the LORD has entrusted to you with the expectation that you will be found faithful. Money and resources fall under this equation as well that the LORD entrusts you with. As a child of God, managing your resources which must include tithing to the LORD's storehouse/church and giving to the Lord's work is a sign of your faithfulness with the finances that God has entrusted you with as a steward.
I'll end with this parable that Jesus shared with us found in Luke 12:31-34 (NKJV)
"But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
Do not fear, little flocks, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: The best gift that Jesus gave us is receiving salvation and eternal life which is a personal relationship knowing God as our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that God sent His One and only Son who died for my sins and was raised from the dead so that I could have eternal life." AMEN
