Father God, thank you for the entrance of Your Word brings light and we ask to walk in this light with understanding and revelation of the the Son, Jesus in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Leviticus chapter 4 is the sin offering. First of all, I encourage you to read this chapter in your Bible to receive a better understanding from this post. As you read this chapter, you will notice sin is referred to as unintentional. When sin was still unintentional, the person who committed the sin could not make an offering. The only time they would make an offering for sin to God through the anointed priest is when their sin came to their knowledge.

Meaning of sin:

The Hebrew definition of sin is 'chata' which is 'missing the mark'. In otherwords, doing something that is outside of your identity. This chapter also tells us that the different sin offerings offered by different people. Their was a unintentional sin offering given by anointed priest (Leviticus 4:3), unintentional sin offering by the rulers (Leviticus 4:22), unintentional sin offering by the common person (Leviticus 4:27). Lastly, the unintentional sin offering by the congregation which sin offering was offered by the elders on behalf of the people (Leviticus 4:13-15).

Again, an offering for unintentional sin only took place after the person came to the knowledge that they had acted outside of who God made them to be.

In the new covenant, when you receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, you are no longer a sinner but a saint and a child of God thereby giving you a new identity. In the story of the children of Israel, they were God's children based on the promise given to Abraham and His descendants by God. God told Abraham in Genesis 12:3 (NKJV) "...in you all the nations of the earth shall be blessed."

However, as much as the law was spiritual (Romans 7:15), the law did not have the power to cleanse one from both the intentional and unintentional sin of the flesh because the people kept offering burnt, grain, peace and sin sacrifices every year. So God in His love sent Jesus, not only to the Jew but to the rest of the world (John 3:16). This is because only faith in Jesus has the power over sin and access to eternal life.

This new covenant that is based on faith in Jesus puts everyone at a level playing field where we are all made right based on what Jesus' has done for us through His death on the cross for the sins of the world, burial and resurrection from the dead. The LORD God continues to speak of the new identity He has given you as His son/daughter who has received the Son and says in 1 Peter 2:9-10 (NKJV), "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy."

In a way, my lesson after reading this chapter in the Bible is identity in Christ is who we are and sin is when you act outside of your nature as a people of God who are chosen, a royal priesthood and holy nation. In turn, salvation does not start and end only when you get born again, it is a way of life with Jesus as Lord leading you. Jesus said in Luke 17:21 (NKJV), "...For indeed the kingdom of God is within you." Thankfully, God's arms are still open for all who would like to become His children today.

Invitation to salvation: If this sounds like you; that is, you would like to be born again into God's Kingdom. This means your sins would be forgiven and you would have a personal relationship to know God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to receive salvation. Please say these words with me:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

GLORY TO GOD, You are now a new creation in Christ Jesus! In case you have not already, please prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and get WATER BAPTIZED!

I'll end with this word that Jesus says in John 6:63 (NKJV)

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for eternal life that is found in knowing You and Jesus. Thank you that You who started a good work in us, You will see it to the end. By Your power, we will walk and live in this eternal life as sons and daughters of God in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
