Same God

Psalm 90:1-2 (NKJV)

1. "Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.

2. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting You are God."

Amen, thank you LORD.

These contemplative words are spoken by the Psalmist who is believed to be Moses. The beautifully recognizes God's presence and sovereignty over their lives, generation after generation and says, God has been their dwelling place (Psalm 90:1). He then speaks of nature like the mountains, the earth and the world that were formed and concludes, God is indeed the everlasting God. I believe he considers the vast nature of God and is taken back in wonder. He has also observed the faithfulness of God, carrying them through different generations and is in awe.

Isaiah 54:10 says, "For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you nor shall My covenant of peace be removed says the LORD who has mercy on you." Thankfully, the surety of God's covenant of peace and kindness is not only for the Jew but for the Gentile (non Jewish) person because of Christ who is now our peace and has removed this wall of separation reconciling us to God the Father through His body (Ephesians 2:14). Ephesians 3:6 continues to remind us, "that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel."

I want you to consider a challenge or situation you may be facing. Consider, the God that faithfully kept His promise starting with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This same God split the Red Sea so that the descendants of Israel could walk on dry ground rescuing them from their enemies (Exodus 14:21-22). God also sent them manna which is bread from heaven (Exodus 16:4), gave them water to drink from the Rock (Exodus 17:6). God also surrounded His people with His presence in the wilderness with a fire at night and cloud by day (Exodus 13:21). The same God who stopped the sun from setting at Joshua's request during battle (Joshua 10:13). The LORD God sent His Angel who shut the mouths of lions so Daniel could live in a lion's den unharmed (Daniel 6:22). God unbound the chains off the hands and feet of the Hebrew boys who thrown into the fire because of their faith and the LORD run with them, rejoicing in the fire. Eventually, they came out of a hot burning furnace, alive and did not smell like smoke (Daniel 3:16-25). The God who helped David conquer Goliath (1 Samuel 17) and other kings of Israel win conquests like king Jehoshaphat who went out to battle singing praises to God and His enemies scattered (2 Chronicles 20:21). This same God who in love gave His Beloved Son Jesus who in compassion did His Father's works like healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead.

This same God who did these mighty works then, He is still as powerful today concerning the situations in the lives of His sons and daughters. Friend, God will not fail you. Romans 3:24 says, "...for let God be true and every man a liar."

I'll end with this Word found in Hebrews 11:1-2 (NKJV)

1. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony."

Amen, thank you LORD.

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
