The love of God
Updated: Sep 25
This is the day that the LORD has made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. We enter into Your courts LORD God with thanksgiving and praise for Your majesty, goodness, lovingkindness, mercy, redemption, righteousness found in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Yesterday, we looked at salvation as an act of love and I will be continuing along the same lines today. The love that God has given to us is a love like no other, it cannot be faked or duplicated, and every other love falls short to the love of God that is found in Christ Jesus. This love is not always cute like the love seen in the movies but it is steadfast, unwavering and a firm foundation. Also, there is a tenderness about God's love that is felt in our hearts and understanding. Romans 5:5 tells us that the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Yet despite all the beauty and goodness that is found God's love, God found it wise to give us the freedom to choose His love. God will not impose His love on anyone who does not desire to receive it. So, it seems that for one to fully know and appreciate the love that God for them, they have to be willing to receive it first for themselves with their heart. This the reason salvation is an invitation because love gives you the freedom to choose and herein lays its power.
1 John 4:18-19 (NKJV) says;
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
We love Him because He first loved us."
Amen, thank you LORD.
The love of God is perfect and casts away fear. This perfect love I believe grows through knowledge of God's Word, obeying God's commandments and doing His will with the help of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 13:5 also reminds us that love thinks no evil. We are encouraged as believers to be wise in what is good and simple concerning evil (Romans 15:19). This is important because the love of God has saved us from His wrath (Romans 5:9). Today, we have peace with God (Romans 5:1) so there is no longer a reason for a child of God to be afraid because we have been brought near to the presence of God not based on our goodness but on the goodness of Jesus and what He did for us on the cross. For this reason, every fear is far from our lives. We are safe in this love because we do not keep ourselves safe, we are loved by the Almighty God who sees to it that you are kept safe. Since we have peace with God, we have the confidence that indeed if God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31). Always remember, you are loved.
I'll end with this verse found in Romans 8:37-39 (NKJV)
"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: The best gift that Jesus gave us is receiving salvation and eternal life which is a personal relationship knowing God as our Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
If you would like to receive this free gift of God's salvation, please say this prayer with me:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that God sent His One and only Son who died for my sins and was raised from the dead so that I could have eternal life." Amen
If you just said this prayer, GLORY TO GOD, you are now a new creation in Christ Jesus! In case you have not already, please prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and get WATER BAPTIZED!
