Abba Father, what a joy it is to call You Father. Thank you for sending Your Beloved Son, Jesus in whom we have received redemption, we have been bought with a price in is His precious blood and in Christ, we have received a new identity, children born of God delivered from the power of darkness and into the Kingdom of the Son of His love in whom we have received righteousness, sanctification, justification and every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places because we are united with Christ. We give you all the glory and praise Father in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

John 14:12-14 (NKJV)

  1. "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father

  2. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

  3. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Today's post is about faith in the name of Jesus. Jesus was preparing the hearts of His disciples to do exploits for the Kingdom of God. This blueprint was that whoever would believe in Him would do the works of Jesus and greater works than Jesus because Jesus was returning to the Father God. Jesus said, that whoever would ask anything in His name, He would surely do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13).

Jesus was showing us the importance of praying using the name of Jesus. When you pray using the name of Jesus, you have all of heaven backing you up because Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV) reminds us of the power that is found in using the name of Jesus, "Therefore God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Everything created by God is made through Christ (John 1:3) and Jesus is sharing a reminder that when His children ask for anything in this name, He will do it.

In the book of Acts, Peter and John (Jesus' disciples) while on their way to the temple to pray encounter a lame man at the gate of Beautiful who was begging for money but Acts 3:6-8 (NKJV) says, "Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength so he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them - walking, leaping and praising God."

When this great miracle happened, the people who knew this man were amazed but Peter reminded the people that this miracle of a man who was once lame but now able to walk did not happen because of their own their strength, ability, education or godliness (Acts 3:12). The miracle took place because of their faith in the name of Jesus for Peter said, "And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all." (Acts 3:16 NKJV). Peter was saying that there was nothing in the natural that would have qualified them for God's calling on their life except faith in the name of Jesus. The disciples had a relationship with Jesus for they had spent a significant amount of time communing and fellowshipping with Him. They had seen the great works Jesus did. They believed in Jesus and faith in the name of Jesus was their confidence. Thankfully, this promise applies to you as well as God's child for all of God's promises in Him are yes and Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). AMEN!

Invitation to salvation: The greatest gift that God gave the world will always be His Son, Jesus. If you would like to receive eternal life and have personal relationship with God through His Beloved Son, Jesus. I invite you to say this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

GLORY TO GOD, You are now a new creation in Christ Jesus! In case you have not already, please prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and get WATER BAPTIZED!

If you have not already, I encourage you to read chapters 1-14 of John's Gospel! GOD BLESS YOU
