John 15:9-10 (NKJV)

  1. As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

  2. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.

Amen, thank you LORD.

In the last two posts, Jesus was sharing on the importance of abiding in Him as the vine who is also the Branch and the Father God as the vine dresser in order to be able to bear fruit. In today's post, we are reminded that just like bearing fruit is a by product of relationship, love is a by product of relationship as well.

In the above verses, Jesus is speaking to His disciples which also includes us believers of the importance of abiding in His love. The LORD Jesus shares something worthy for us to meditate on, which is He has loved us just as the Father has loved Him and He says, abide in My love (John 15:9). Jesus goes on to say that keeping His commandments which is walking to the obedience of the Word of God is the way to abiding in His love. These verses also show us that when Jesus speaks of love, He shows communion which is communion or fellowship between Him and God, the Father. This shows us that relationship is at the core of experiencing the love of God and thankfully we have the Holy Spirit who is able to help us to know and experience the love of God. Without the person of the Holy Spirit, it would almost be impossible to know the love of God that is found in Christ Jesus. Romans 5:5 (NKJV) says, "Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." The Holy Spirit is a Person of love. He is the One who testifies with our spirit that we are children of God and we did not receive a spirit that makes us a slave to fear for we received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father (Romans 8:15-16). The Holy Spirit is also the reminder that now we have direct access to God (Ephesians 2:18) re affirming our intimacy and fellowship with God as our Father. As a child of God, you are born into a family where you belong and are accepted. The Holy Spirit is also our Helper who makes everything we have received in Christ to come alive and enables us to obey the commands of the LORD as we develop and grow in our fellowship with Him, God the Father and God the Son.

An important part of relationship is spending time with. The more time you spend with someone, the more you know and become like them which is the same with our relationship with God. Jesus always said, I do as my Father does (John 5:19-20) and in today's lead Word Jesus says, He has loved us as the Father loves Him (John 15:9). One of the best ways to grow in your relationship with God is to spend time in your Bible and meditating on what it says. When we do as Jesus does, we are modelling our love relationship with Him because as children of God, we mirror His character with the help of the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV) says, "But we all with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." - Amen.

Revelation 22:17 (NKJV) says,

And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: The greatest gift that God gave the world will always be His Son, Jesus. If you would like to receive eternal life and have personal relationship with God through His Beloved Son, Jesus. I invite you to say this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

GLORY TO GOD, You are now a new creation in Christ Jesus! In case you have not already, please prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and get WATER BAPTIZED!

If you have not already, I encourage you to read chapters 1-15 of John's Gospel! GOD BLESS YOU
