John, Chapter 4 (2)
Father God, thank you that in the Son is life and the life of the Son is in every area of our lives in the name of Jesus, Amen.
If you have not already, I encourage you to read the gospel of John. There is so much that the LORD would want to reveal to you that would never be exhausted in a post but I pray that this post kick starts your hunger to search the Scriptures and receive of God's goodness for you in the name of Jesus.
In yesterday's post, we looked at the lady that Jesus met at the well. Her one encounter with Jesus changed her life and the lives of the residents of her hometown forever. After Jesus departed from Samaria, He returned to Cana of Galilee where He met a nobleman who had a sick child who was at the point of death (John 4:46-47). This nobleman asked Jesus to come with him and heal his son. Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way." (John 4:50). Later on, we find out that the fever left his son the exact hour Jesus sent His word and this caused the nobleman and his whole household to believe in the Lord. This nobleman did not know Jesus but he believed in Jesus' power to heal his child which later led him and his household to believe in the name of the Lord.
Earlier on this chapter, when the disciples had brought Jesus food and asked him to eat, Jesus response was, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work." (John 4:34).
Today, we can rejoice that we live in the day where Jesus has finished the Father's work by willing offering Himself to die on the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead in glory in heaven so that all who believe in Him may receive eternal life. Eternal life is having knowledge of God, the Father and of His Son Jesus Christ (John 17:3). As believers, we rejoice in this truth of the finished works of Jesus because when the people back then, had to wait for Him to pass through their towns, we have all day, free access to God, the Father's goodness in our lives through His Son Jesus because of our faith that believes in the name of Jesus.
Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV) speaks of the LORD Jesus and says,
"Therefore God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
that at the mention of the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to receive Jesus and be born again into God's Kingdom, that is saved and have a personal relationship with God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to say this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
