Lately, Jesus as the Good Shepherd of the sheep keeps tagging at my heart. When you read John 10:1-30, Jesus says He is the Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep three different times and in John 10:11, he says, "I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd gives his life for the sheep." Jesus' act to lay down his life for the sheep and to give of Himself shows us the integrity of His Word and most importantly the significance of your life to Him. In case you are not already aware, you are very important to God and your life means a lot to Him and this is the reason Jesus willingly gave His life on the cross and was raised from the dead by the power of God. I have a friend who likes to say, 'if you were the only person on earth, Jesus would still come to die for you because that's how much He loves you'. But think about this statement, that God would not sell you short when it comes to His love concerning you even if you were the only person on earth after the first Adam that was created. I'm always humbled by God's infinite ways when He told Moses that He could raise up another generation that would not be as rebellious and stiff necked as the children of Israel but Moses pleaded with God on behalf of the people and He changed His mind. Moses, was clearly an intercessor and trustworthy shepherd for God's people and today we are reminded, how much more Jesus, the risen Lord and the Good Shepherd? Romans 8:31-32 (NKJV) says. "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"
If you are experiencing any trouble or challenge, be comforted. Jesus is with you and as the good Shepherd, He stays closest to his sheep in the darkest hour. Friend, God's presence is not a myth, it is real and His presence will not fail concerning your life. A situation may appear dark but to God, He created both light and darkness and in Psalm 139:12, God does not recognize darkness which is proof that no situation can last in your life. The Word reads, "Indeed the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to you."
Prayer: Father, may Your presence surround Your sons and daughters. May they feel You closer to them like never before as You Shepherd them with Your righteous right arm when they pass through every dark valley in the name of Jesus. Thank you LORD that in Your presence is the fullness of joy and this is our testimony in the name of Jesus, Amen.
I'll end with this Word found in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NKJV)
"17. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
18.while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to be born again into God's Kingdom, that is have a personal relationship with God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to say this confession with me:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, YOU'VE BEEN REDEEMED by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen. In case you do not already, please join a church community and get water baptized!
