Praise the LORD family. We thank God for this is the day that the LORD has made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. We thank you LORD God, Creator of heaven and earth for this last Sunday of June. We worship You Ancient of days, we worship You the Alpha & the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the I AM that I AM, the LORD of Hosts and LORD of the Heaven's Armies, the Great I AM, The One who speaks and it is, Jehovah, the One who causes to become, who is like You O LORD God in love, majesty, splendor, might, power and goodness, among all of the earth. Our Father and the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we give You all the glory, praise and honor and say may Your name be magnified over all the ends of the earth in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Acts 17:11-12 (NKJV)

  1. "These were more fair minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

  2. Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men."

Amen, thank you LORD.

There is a power that flows through God's Word that only He can introduce and reveal to you as you read His Word. The believers in Berea are a good example of the Lord Jesus' church that had tasted the power that flowed from reading God's Word. We see that as they read the Word by searching out the Scriptures to find truth for themselves many of them believed and their faith was established. What a beautiful testimony. The book of Daniel says, "...but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits." (Daniel 11:32). However, there are no exploits before knowing the Lord and one of the best ways to know God and to grow in relationship with Him is through reading the Word of God.

What are some benefits of spending time in God's Word?

  • You get to know God's nature and His lovingkindness towards you. The LORD in Jeremiah 29:13 says, "And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all of your heart."

  • As you know God's nature and character, you will also know your identity as a child of God who is created in God's image (Genesis 1:26) and the plans and purposes that God has prepared for you. Ephesians 2:10, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before hand that we should walk in them."

  • You are established, rooted and grounded in the faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is one thing for me to tell you about Jesus but when you see Jesus through the Scriptures, that's an initmacy and experience that no one can take away. In the book of Luke were two sisters who were loved the Lord and He loved them as well. Martha was complaining that her sister, Mary, was not helping her with some of the chores and Jesus said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered and anxious about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [that which is to her advantage], which will not be taken away from her." (Luke 1-:41-42).

  • As you know this, you will also know all the promises that God has for you as a child of God. 2 Peter 1:3 says, "as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

  • Meditating on God's Word has the power to unlock divine healing in your life. 1 John 4:17 says, "...because as He is in this world, so are we."

  • You receive direction for your life especially when you need to make a decision. Psalm 119:105 says, for God's Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light to our path.

  • You grow in wisdom, understanding and revelation in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul prayed for us as a body of Christ, "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power towards us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in that which is to come." (Ephesians 1:17-21).

Invitation to salvation: The above benefits are for children of God. If you would like to know about God as your the Father who from the beginning of creation has always loved you and desires to commune with you through a personal relationship with His only Son Christ who has given you victory over sin and through Him, we have the blessings of the new covenant and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

If this sounds like you - I invite you to speak this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, YOU'VE BEEN REDEEMED by the precious blood of Jesus. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen. In case you do not already, please join a church community and get water baptized!
