Father God, we thank you for your Word. Your Word is truth and it is life. Thank you that the life of the Word is reflecting in every area of our lives in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Today's lead Word is coming from John 1:12-13 (NKJV)
"12.But as many received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13.who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Jesus in John 3:5 says, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." For every single child of God who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life, the Word of God had to be preached to them and they responded to the working of the Holy Spirit by believing in their hearts and confessing with their mouths that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to die for the sins of the world so all could receive eternal life (Romans 10:10). John 3:5 also shows us that after confession is made, an immersion in water also known as water baptism has to take place for one to be born again.
When you receive Christ, you are a new creation (2 Corinthains 5:17), not refurbished, or a modified and imporved version, no. You are a completely new creation. As a new creation, God's deepest desire is to have you close to Him and under the shadow and protection of His wings. God did not save you from sin to leave you or trip you up. He saved you so that nothing can ever come between you and Him to separate you from His love found in His Son, Christ.
John 1:13 above reminds us that every child of God is born of God by the power of God. This means that the will of man cannot prevail against you, the will of the flesh cannot prevail against you because you have been born by the power of God Himself. On the other hand, the enemy wants you to doubt if you truly are born of God. Be encouraged child of God, for 1 John 4:4 reminds us, "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." No enemy or negative circumstance can disqualify you from your identity as one who is born of God and for this truth, you are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37).
In John 1:12, we see that for every child born of God, also receives rights because they believe in His name. This verse shows us the power that is found in the name of Jesus. When you became born again, Colossians 1:13 says, you were redeemed from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of the Son of His love. My favourite part about this verse is God has redeemed you and I into a kingdom of His love by the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
This means that the enemy no longer has control or dominion over you because now you are God's child who is kept by His power. Only the blood of Jesus Christ can give you this inheritance. Now as a child of God, you have been given rights, and the best way to know these rights is by reading God's Word. Reading this blog is good, going to church is great, listening to good teachings is amazing as well but a consistent and personal daily study of God's Word is important for you to be able to know the rights and privileges that God has given you as His child. When you choose to habitually lean into the study of God's Word, you will know what belongs to you and exercise your rights and walk in the victory that the Father has blessed you with in Christ.
John 1:12 above also tells us that because you believe in the name of Jesus, you have the right to use that name against the schemes of the enemy. Philippians 2:9-10 reminds us of the glory and authority that is found in the name of Jesus. It reads, "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth."
As one who is born of God, when you use your authority found in the name of Jesus, every darkness must flee at the mention of the name of Jesus and God is reminding you that this is a right He has given you as His child.
I'll end with this Word found in Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) that shares how God's children overcame the enemy:
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: God in His expression of love towards man sent forth His One and Only Son in whom is the forgiveness of sin. In the blood of Christ, we are reconciled in relationship to God and have direct access to Him as our Father. If you would like to receive the gift of the abundant life which is found in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, please say this prayer below;
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
