Dependence on God

Father God, thank you for this is the day, the day of Your grace, the day of Your salvation, the day of Your love, the day of Your help, the day of Your healing, the day of Your restoration and redemption, the day of your hope, the day of breakthrough, the day of Your peace and joy, the day of Your light in the name of Jesus, amen. We are glad and rejoice in this day. As the Word is read and shared, may You give us understanding and light our paths in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Today's lead Word is from Luke 18:16-17 (NKJV)

  1. But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

  2. "Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Jesus says above that whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it. At the same time, we are also reminded that an heir as long as he is a child does not differ at all from a slave though he is a master of all (Galatians 4:1) because he cannot be trusted with an inheritance.

However, I believe Jesus in today's lead Scripture is speaking of place where a child born of God leans in, relies on and fully depends on the LORD in all things. Not some things, all things. When you look at children, they are humble in the sense that they rely and depend on their parents both when they are in need and when not in need.

Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 NKJV, "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God," In addition, Jesus says in John 15:5 says, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without me you can do nothing." The heart posture of leaning in, relying on and depending on God expresses humility and is the path for bearing fruit in God's Kingdom. When we depend on God, it shows we trust Him and in turn He can also trust us to build according to His pattern.

Prayer: Abba Father, thank you for this Word and right now we receive the grace to lean in, to depend and to rely on You Lord as a little child as we abide in Your Word. We recognize that You are the source of our sufficiency so we say thank you and receive the grace for more understanding that will enable us to build according to Your pattern LORD as we bear fruit for the glory of Your Kingdom in the name of Jesus, Amen.

I'll end with this Word found in James 1:5 (NKJV) "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: The first step to depending on God is receiving a personal relationship with His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ. If you would like to know and experience this love of God that is found in His Son Christ who forgives your sins, cleanses you and makes you whole, I invite you to say this confession with me,

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever." AMEN!

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
