God enables

Colossians 3:12 AMP

"So, as God's own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper];"

Amen, thank you LORD.

In a previous post (titled God saves), we looked at the ability that God has given every son and daughter who is born again to live a consecrated life that is set apart. Today, God reminds us that as you surrender to the power of the Holy Spirit to do a work on your heart put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

The best way for the Holy Spirit to do a work in your heart is by receiving the grace to habitually read the Word of God.

As a child of God, you have been called to bear a life of fruit. Jesus in John 15:5 says, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without me you can do nothing." I believe reading the Word of God provides understanding, enables you to see things the way God does and gives you discernment to know the difference between truth and a lie.

Galatians 5:22-23 AMP tells us of some of the fruit of the Holy Spirit that we shall bear as God's children when we abide in the LORD through His Word. That is, "But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulnesss, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is now law."

Consequently, God does a work by His grace and His power at work in you through Christ to produce fruit for His glory.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for the gift of Jesus, Your beloved Son. Thank you LORD that You are the Vine, and Your sons and daughters are able to bear much fruit because they abide in You. Thank you LORD that Your sons and daughters receive the grace to habitually abide in the Word and bear the fruit of love, kindness, patiently waiting well, humility, gentleness, peace, joy, compassion and self-control firstly with themselves and in their relationship with others in the name of Jesus. Thank you LORD that by Your grace, the wills of Your sons and daughters are surrendered to Your ways of truth, the plans and purposes You have concerning their lives. Thank you LORD that their hearts are good soil for the Word to grow, produce a bountiful and fruitful harvest for Your glory in the name of Jesus, Amen.

I'll end with Jesus' Word found in Luke 6:45 (NKJV)

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: Today, God is still pursuing His people in love. In fact, God loves you so much that He had to send Jesus Christ His Son to die for Your sin (John 3:16). When Jesus died on the cross, an exchange happened where in His painful crucifixion, He bore all your sin, wrongs, shortcomings, iniquity, mistakes, diseases, depression. Jesus took it all so you do not have to bear them and this is the reason when you receive Him, you are whole, healthy, set apart, complete in Him and reconciled in relationship with God, the Father now until eternity. "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
