Today's lead Word is from Genesis 22:1-3 (NKJV)

  1. "Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."

  2. Then He said, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

  3. So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Abraham's obedience to God's instruction demonstrates God's heart. Faith emulates. Abraham as the chosen father of faith for thousands of generations had to emulate the faith of God. God asked Abraham to put or sacrifice what he loved most on the altar just like God gave the world what He loved most when He sent His Son.

Genesis 1:26 reminds us that man is created in the image of God. So our faith is a demonstration of God's faith. Jesus died for you before you ever knew Him and He forgave all your sins before you received Him as Lord and Saviour of your life. Romans 5:10 NKJV continues to say, "For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled we shall be saved by His life."

However Jesus' obedience to the point of death on the cross and resurrection from the dead was an act of faith on God's part because He knew that when you would hear the good news, you would believe and receive salvation in His Son.

In Romans chapter 4, we see Abraham's faith in God contrasted with faith in Christ that is, because we believe in God who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offences and was raised because of our justification (Romans 4:24-25). In both cases, there was nothing that could have been done to earn God's promise except faith in God. Abraham could never have earned God's promise of Isaac's birth because God gave it to him while he was still uncircumcised (Romans 4:9-10) with his wife past child bearing age. In the same way there is nothing one can possibly do to earn or deserve God's love that is found in Jesus Christ. All you have to do is to receive it, amen!

I'll end with this Word found in Genesis 22:11-13 (NKJV)

"11. But the Angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" So he said, "Here I am."

  1. And He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.

  2. Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know and experience this love of God that is found in His Son Christ, I invite you to a personal relationship with Him where He is no longer only God to you but also Father. If this sounds like you, please confess the prayer below,

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever." AMEN!

CONGRATS, YOU ARE THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD! In case, you don't already, please join a church community and get water baptized.
