Grace qualifies you

Father God, we thank you for this new day of hope and victory LORD God for faith in Christ Jesus is the victory that has overcome the world. Speak to Your people LORD God and give understanding in all things in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Ephesians 2:10 (AMP)

"For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above - spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] before hand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]."

Amen, thank you LORD.

With God's help, I have been sharing on the power of God's grace and this post is a continuation of this discussion. When we look at the gospels, Jesus models love, humility, grace, righteousness, holiness, to mention a few of the traits He represents.

However, in this particular post I would like to share on the grace of God that gives us right standing with the LORD to qualify you for the assignment He has prepared for you. I believe Jesus' disciples provide a good illustration of God's grace in action. That is, they were fishermen who had no background or training in the law like the religious leaders during their time. Other times, Jesus expressed the unbelief of His disciples in amazement because for people who daily walked alongside Him, they ought to have known better. However, this did not disqualify them for God's assignment upon their lives.

One of Jesus' disciples, Simon Peter, was ready to die for the LORD and fight for Him just to demonstrate His love. You would think Jesus would be pleased with this but He reminded Peter that he would deny knowing Him three times before His crucifixion (Luke 22:54-62). Sometimes, it may be easy to think that your right behaviour or wrong behaviour make you right with God. However, nothing will qualify you for your assignment a part from God's grace and His power found in the Holy Spirit. When Jesus was leaving the earth, He said, "It is finished." (John 19:30)

I'm always amazed and humbled that despite the unbelief of His disciples at the time, Jesus after His resurrection still sent them out with His authority to go to and share the gospel to the different parts of the world (Matthew 28:18-20) and encouraged them in Acts 1:8 to wait on the power of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus looked at His disciples, He saw their hearts and He had the end in mind that they would finish their salvation race well as mighty men, a rock on which He would build His church (Matthew 16:18). Grace qualified them for the assignment that God always prepared for them and they stepped into their assignments in the authority and integrity of God's Word.

Peter who once boasted of his love and zeal for the LORD based on his actions over time, recognized the power of God's grace in his life. Thankfully, the LORD Jesus saved him from every guilt and condemnation of the enemy that would hinder Peter's assignment by restoring him as seen in John 21:15-17.

God's grace will always give you what you do not deserve because God's love for you is not based on your goodness but on His love and goodness that is found in His Son, Jesus Christ.

In Acts 3:12, Peter recognizes the power of God's grace in full operation on his life and John's as God's chosen apostles of the early church. He says, "So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: "Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?" When you receive God's grace, it not only qualifies you for God's work but it is also a reminder of God's unconditional love for you that all things have been finished and the purpose of the works of your hands is to glorify God. You have been blessed to be a blessing.

I'll end with this Word found in Isaiah 61:10 (NKJV)

"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with jewels."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour of your life, you also receive the comfort and the Help of the Holy Spirit. If this sounds like you, I invite you to believe with your heart and confess with your mouth the words below;

"I believe with my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to die for my sins. Today, I receive Jesus as the Lord and Saviour of my life who has delivered me from every power of darkness into the Kingdom of God's love. I am now a new creation in Christ Jesus. I am free and whole. My past trespasses and all my sins are forgiven by my Father God. And every disease and iniquity is healed by Jesus' stripes. AMEN."
