Abba Father, thank you for the blessing of a new day, in Your Word, in Your presence, in Your love, Your protection and favor that surrounds us like a shield in the name of Jesus. Thank you for the blessing of new beginnings. Father, indeed You do a new thing and we perceive, receive and step into it in the name of Jesus. Amen. Thank you LORD.

In Isaiah 62, we see the LORD, giving a new name to His people (Isaiah 62:2) before His restoration takes place in their lives. Often times, we also see that God provides an identity to His people before He equips them for the purpose or assignment He has in plan for them. For instance, we see that when Jesus Christ walked the physical earth, the Father God, affirmed His identity as His beloved Son before the start of His earthly ministry. In Matthew 3:17 NKJV we see, "And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son in whom I well pleased." God approved and loved Jesus before He performed any miracles because God, the Father loves His children not based on what they do for Him but based on the integrity, love and goodness of His character.

It is important to keep in mind that our life as believers should ideally be patterned after the life of Jesus Christ. This means the affirmation Christ received from the Father God is meant to be modelled by us as Christ's body as we come to the full understanding and knowledge of receiving all of God's love for us that is found in His Son, Jesus Christ.

This begs us to shift our focus to the new covenant where we are now sons and daughters of God by grace through faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8). The truth of this grace and faith in Christ is what empowers and informs the life of God in each believer to manifest the purposes that God had always pre destined for them here on earth. Ephesians 1:5-6 (NKJV) reminds us of God's heart who - "having pre destined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved."

In today's post, I'll also write out the full chapter 62 (from the Amplified Bible translation) as revealed by the Spirit of the LORD through the prophet Isaiah:

  1. For Zion's sake I (Isaiah) will not be silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not keep quiet, until her righteousness and vindication go forth as brightness, and her salvation goes forth like a burning torch.

  2. The nations will see your righteousness and vindication [by God], and all kings [will see] your glory; and you will be called by a new name which the mouth of the LORD will designate.

  3. You will also be [considered] a crown of glory and splendor in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem [exceedingly beautiful] in the hand of your God.

  4. It will no longer be said of you [Judah], "Azubah (Abandoned)," nor will it any longer be said of your land, "Shemamah (Desolate)"; but you will be called, "Hephzibah (My delight is in Her)," and your land, "Married"; for the LORD delights in you, and to Him your land will be married [owned and protected by the LORD].

  5. For as a young man marries a virgin [O Jerusalem], so your sons will marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your God will rejoice over you.

  6. On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed and stationed watchmen (prophets), who will never keep silent day or night; you who profess the LORD, take no rest for yourselves,

  7. And you give Him no rest [from your prayers] until He establishes Jerusalem and makes her a praise on the earth.

  8. The LORD has sworn [an oath] by His right hand and by His mighty arm, "I will never again give your grain as food for your enemies, nor will [the invading] foreigners drink your new wine for which you have labored."

  9. But they who have harvested it will eat it and praise the LORD, and they who have gathered it will drink it [at the feasts celebrated] in the courtyards of My sanctuary.

  10. Go through, go through the gates, clear the way for the people; build up, build up the highway, remove the stones, lift up a banner over the peoples.

  11. Listen carefully, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the earth, say to the Daughter of Zion, "Look now, your salvation is coming [in the LORD]; indeed, His reward is with Him, and His restitution accompanies Him."

  12. And they will call them "The Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD"; and you will be called "Sought Out, A city Not Deserted."

AMEN, thank you LORD.

Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
