John, chapter 10 (2)
Updated: 7 hours ago
Thank you LORD for this day. May You speak to our hearts as we read and meditate on the Word in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
John 10:14 (NKJV)
I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
Amen, thank you LORD.
Chapter 10 is another beautiful chapter in the Bible and herein, Jesus introduces Himself as the good Shepherd. Jesus is not just any shepherd but He is the good (my emphasis) Shepherd who owns the sheep and lays down His life for the sheep as seen in John 10:15. The sheep in this case are God's people. This chapter also tells of how Jesus takes His work as s Shepherd very seriously and compares it to a hired shepherd. A hired shepherd may leave the sheep in times of trouble for instance, running away from the sheep when he sees a wolf coming (John 10:12) as opposed to protecting the sheep. Jesus continues to say that the hireling will flee because He does not care about the sheep (John 10:13). On the other hand, Jesus is the good Shepherd who owns the sheep and every detail concerning the lives of His sheep is His full-time responsibility. Jesus in John 10:28 (NKJV) speaks of the certainty of His presence in the lives of His church, the body which is you and I and says, "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand." When you become born again and receive eternal life, you and God are now inseparable for nothing can separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39).
I'll end with this Word found in Ephesians 5:28-30 (NKJV)
So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to receive eternal life and be born again into God's Kingdom, that is saved and have a personal relationship with God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Beloved Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to say this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
GLORY TO GOD, You are now a new creation in Christ Jesus! In case you have not already, please prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and get WATER BAPTIZED!
If you have not already, I encourage you to read chapters 1-10 of John's Gospel! GOD BLESS YOU
