Father, we thank you for another day in Your presence and in Your Word. Thank you for Your lovingkindness, mercy and wisdom in the name of Jesus. As we read today's Word, thank you for renewing us in understanding in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

In yesterday's post, I shared on Jesus who came to bring fellowship with the Father God for Jesus is the way, the truth and the life for no one can come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). During His earthly ministry, Jesus was also sure to let His disciples know including you and I that everything that He did was because of the Father who was working in Him and through Him. Jesus' fellowship with the Father led to the manifestation of the Father's works and miracles that He did (John 14:10-11).

Fellowship in the greek means koinonia which is to commune and to participate in a shared life all of which indicate intimacy and relationship. As a new creation who is born of God, you are now made in the image of His Son's righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21) and every part of your past is cancelled and nullified by Jesus' precious blood of the new covenant. God did not re model you or re furbish the old version of you, no. He completely made you new through faith in His Son.

As children who have been born of God (John 1:12-13), fellowship with the Father through His Son Jesus is your natural 'default position' and God has made this fellowship with Him and Christ possible by the Person of the Holy Spirit.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

  • The Holy Spirit is a Person and is addressed with a pronoun 'He' (John 14:26)

  • He is part of the Holy trinity of God that is God, the Father, God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit. He was also present at the beginning of creation when God said Let us make man in our own image and likeness (Genesis 1:26)

  • The Holy Spirit is also known as the Helper that Jesus left us with when He said, "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever (John 14:18).

  • In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit came upon different men and women of God in order to help them fulfill the assignments and calling of God on their life.

  • Blaspheming the Person of the Holy Spirit is an unpardonable sin meaning this is the one sin that God will not forgive (Mark 3:28-30)

  • The Holy Spirit is our Comforter. Jesus is speaking of His departure to His disciples which was a sad time for Him and for them but He re assures them, "I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you." (John 14:18).

  • The Holy Spirit is also the Spirit of truth who will remind you of your identity as a son and daughter of God leading and guiding you into all truth (1 John 2:20-21).

TO BE CONTINUED...

Jesus reminds us in John 14:27 (NKJV)

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to receive eternal life and be born again into God's Kingdom, that is saved and have a personal relationship with God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Beloved Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to say this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
