Father, we thank you for the entrance of Your Word brings light and as always, may we not only be hearers of the Word but doers of the Word. We thank you for ears and hearts that are attentive to You in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
What does it mean for God to be righteous?
Romans 3:21-24 (NKJV)
"But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."
AMEN, THANK YOU LORD.
Righteousness reminds us of our right standing with God because of what Jesus Christ has completed for the world when He died for our sins on the cross, was buried and resurrected by the power of God from the grave. The above Word reminds us that everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The above verses also remind us that whoever believes and receives God's righteousness found in Jesus will be saved, justified and access redemption that is found in the precious blood of the new covenant of Jesus Christ. At the same time, we also see that there is a righteousness of God of who He is even without His Beloved Son, Jesus that is also apart from the law as seen in Romans 3:21.
This is what leads me to the question above that is, what does it mean for God to be righteous? - First, we know that God does not need right standing because He alone is God. However, God's righteousness is for our benefit.
For God to be righteous means righteousness is the heart of God. It is what makes God who He is. The righteousness of God is the integrity of God.
For example, Abraham, our father of faith was justified and made right with God because He believed God's Word would come to pass contrary to what he saw with his natural eyes that is his old age and the barrenness of his wife's womb. Genesis 15:1 (NKJV) says, "After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision saying, "Do not be afraid Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward." God made a covenant with Abram before He changed his name to Abraham (meaning father of many nations) and before he was instructed to circumcision which was a sign of the covenant that God would do all that He promised Abraham (Genesis 17:10-11).
So when we believe, I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, it means that I am the evidence of God's love; I am the evidence of God's mercy; I am the evidence of God's goodness; I am the evidence of God's faithfulness; I am the evidence of God's compassion; I am the evidence of God's abundance; I am the evidence of God's prosperity; I am the evidence of God's justification and sanctification; I am the evidence of God's victory in Christ Jesus. The righteousness of God is the favor of God. The righteousness of God is the authority of God; it is the power of God. The righteousness of God is the justice of God. In conclusion, my life is the evidence of God's righteousness. When people look at you, they know there is a God in heaven because God's righteousness is upon your life. AMEN.
I'll end with this word found in Romans 5:17 (NKJV)
"For if by one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ."
Amen, thank you LORD.

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
