The Comforter

Holy Spirit, we welcome Your presence into our homes and in every area of our lives. May You do only what You can do in our lives as You continue to comfort and draw our hearts closer to the Father's heart in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Jesus in John 14:7 (KJV) says,

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Before Jesus' crucifixion, He was speaking with His disciples and telling them about the things that would happen after His physical departure from the world. At the same time, Jesus re assured His disciples that they would not be alone as He would send them another Comforter who would abide with them forever. This Comforter is the Person of the Holy Spirit. In case you are wondering, Jesus' promise still applies and belongs to every born again child of God today.

However, I just wanted us to consider the meaning of Comforter in the above context. Another meaning for Comforter is Strengthener. So God's way of comforting His children is to provide them with strength to continue or to fulfill an assignment at hand for His glory. Before Jesus' crucifixion on the cross, He fervently prayed in the garden of Gethsemane and God strengthened Him to fulfill the purpose as the Sent One of God who was to die for the sins of the world on the cross. Luke 22:43 (NKJV) says, "Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him." God in His infinite wisdom has different ways of comforting His people. With Jesus, in addition to the Person of the Holy Spirit, God also sent an angel to comfort Him.

We also see that God's comfort through the Person of the Holy Spirit does not exempt you from the assignment. God's comfort is the grace given to you to fulfill the assignment or calling. So, friend receive God's comfort in the name of Jesus. God is on your side. AMEN

Prayer: Abba Father thank you for the Comfort of the Holy Spirit. We thank you for the grace to lean and rely on the Comfort of the Holy Spirit in every season of our lives and not our own strength and abilities as we fulfill our respective purposes and calling in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

I'll end with the Word of the LORD found in Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you,

Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know God as Your Father where you become His child and receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit through a personal relationship with His One and Beloved Son, Jesus - I invite you to say this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, YOU'VE BEEN REDEEMED by the precious blood of Jesus. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen. In case you do not already, please join a church community and get water baptized!
