The day of Pentecost

Father God, we praise Your holy name this morning and thank you for sending Jesus, Your Beloved Son who is lifted up high above all of His creation for in Him all things consist. Thank you LORD that because of Jesus, our sins are forgiven, Amen.
Today's Word is from John 14:16-18 (NKJV)
"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever -
"the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Hum, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
"I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."
Amen, thank you LORD.
In the above Scriptures, Jesus tells His disciples about His departure. I can imagine how disoriented they must have been having spent so much time with someone they loved and looked up to. He was sending another Helper, the Spirit of truth who is also known as the Holy Spirit who would dwell with them and in them, amen. Jesus wanted His disciples to be reassured that He would not leave them orphans as His presence through the Spirit of truth would always be with them.
However, the Spirit of truth was availed to the disciples on the day of Pentecost. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He told his disciples to wait and receive power from the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8) and on the day of pentecost as they were all in one room, "they suddenly came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Holy Spirit gave them utterance." (Acts 2:2-3).
Thankfully, since this day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit is still present and available to the church. The promise that we see above is not only for the disciples of the early church but it is for you and I who are here and living in this present day for Hebrews 13:8 reminds us that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever." Just like God did not want His disciples to be orphaned is the same way today, God does not want you His child to feel orphaned as well because His presence is with you, amen.
In order to receive the Spirit of truth, the words of the Apostle Peter are still relevant today just as they were then and he said, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:38-39).
On that note, if you would like to be born again into God's Kingdom, that is saved and have a personal relationship with God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to say this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Prayer: Father, we thank you for Your mercy and love that is found in Jesus who suffered, bore all of our sin, iniquities and by His stripes we were healed so that we may live for righteousness. Thank you that we are still living in the day of pentecost and the Spirit of truth and our Helper is available to the church just as He was in the early church. Thank you LORD God for this promise is for us and our children and to all who are afar off as You will call. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
I'll end with this Word found in 1 John 5:8 (NKJV)
"And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one."
Amen, thank you LORD.
