The Faithful one (2)

Father God, we thank you that Your Word brings understanding to our minds and in Your light, we see light in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Today, I'll be sharing on some of the ways you may walk as the Lord's faithful one. This is not an exhaustive list because your personal relationship with God is the major compass however with God's help, I'll share a few suggestions.

The first step as God's faithful one is to get born again. Jesus in John 3:5 says, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." When you are born again, you are positioned and restored to right relationship with God, where He is Your Father and you are also His child (please see salvation prayer below). This restoration and redemption of your relationship is possible because of Jesus who bore all your sins, iniquities and diseases when He hang upon the cross, was buried and raised in glory by God, the Father from the dead. As a born again child of God, it is important that you get water baptized (a fully body immersion in water) after You have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

As a child of God and God's faithful one, it is important to get acquainted with the Word of God. After Jesus' resurrection, He appeared to His disciples and one of the things He did was to open their eyes to understand the Scriptures. Luke 24:27 says, "And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself." Before you read your bible, say a small prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to open up the eyes of your understanding as you read the Word. Developing a habit of reading God's Word will also enhance your spiritual, emotional and physical growth. Jesus in John 15:4 says, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."

As God's faithful one, you create time for hearing God's Word. Romans 10:17 says, "...faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." It is also good to fellowship with other believers as this edifies our growth in the LORD's ways. Hebrews 10:25 encourages us to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together as believers.

As God's faithful one, we love each other as a body both in heart and in deeds (1 John 3:17) and esteem others needs before our own. Philippians 2:3 says, "Let nothing be done through self ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself."

As God's faithful one, you are proactive in both hearing and doing the Word of God. In Luke 6:47-48 Jesus says, "Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is a like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock." Hearing and doing what God's Word says demonstrates your faithfulness to the ways of God.

As a child of God and God's faithful one, it is important to remember that Jesus is our Shepherd who is also our example as the head of the church and the Savior of the body (Ephesians 5:23).

When Jesus came to earth, He clearly stated that everything He did was aligned to God, the Father. He did not follow or make up His own rules. Jesus says in John 5:30, "I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me." This is where obedience by aligning to God's will becomes important because obedience and submission in God's Kingdom is power. Thankfully, you are empowered by God's grace that enables you to follow God's instruction. Every man who walked with God obeyed God's instructions. When Noah was building the ark, he built it according to God's instructions (Genesis 7:5). Abraham when asked to sacrifice Isaac wholeheartedly followed God's instruction (Genesis 22). Moses shared God's instructions for building the tabernacle with Bezalel and other gifted artisans who performed the work according to God's instructions (Exodus 39:40). Moses followed God's instructions to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt and when he did not believe God by failing to heed to God's instruction (Numbers 20:12), Moses did not make it to the promised land.

This brings me to my last point, as God's faithful one, stay the course by remaining in God's love, have a reverential fear of God by not getting familiar with Him and keeping your eyes focussed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).

I'll end with this Word found in 1 John 3:20-22 (NKJV)

  1. "For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

  2. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.

  3. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to be born again into God's Kingdom, that is have a personal relationship with God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to say this confession with me:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, YOU'VE BEEN REDEEMED by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen. In case you do not already, please join a church community and get water baptized!
