2 Peter 1:2-4 (NKJV)
"Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Father, we thank you for Your Word that is life and Light. In Your Light, we see light. Holy Spirit, quicken the Word to our hearts and our understanding in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Today's Word is based on the knowledge of God. If you were born in a Chrisitian home, you were probably surrounded with the knowledge of God in Christ. In case, you were note, you may agree that they were external circumstances that shaped your perceptions and view of life. For instance, the home you grew up in, the schools you attended, the circle of friends you spent most of your time, the content and books you read outside of the Bible, the shows you watch, etc are all contributing factors to that may inform a person's knowledge and decisions.
At the same time, God's Kingdom is based on knowledge as well. This knowledge is the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord as seen above in 2 Peter 2:2. This tells us that there is a difference between the knowledge that is found in the world and the knowledge that is found in God in Christ Jesus. This knowledge of God and Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior is the door that reveals all things that have been given to you that pertain to life and godliness. This knowledge is what enables you as God's child to partake in the exceeding and precious promises that God has prepared for you found in His Son, Christ. As you journey the Christian life, usually it is the truth that you know that will set you free (John 8:32).
In case you are wondering how to access this truth and grow in the knowledge of God? - It is by reading, studying and meditating on God's Word. The LORD said to Joshua as the new leader who would lead the children of Israel into the promised land, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." (Joshua 1:8).
When you read your Bible, your mind is renewed (Romans 12:2) from previous knowledge and personal choices to God's knowledge and His plans for your life. Friend, God has prepared many exceedingly great and precious promises for you (2 Peter 2:4) and He says the plans He has for you are of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). However, the best way to access these promises is through the knowledge of His Word. As you read the Word, your spirit man is edified, you become strengthened in the faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and you also abide in that relationship with God, as Your loving Father. Ultimately, God as a Father wants the knowledge of Him and the Lord Jesus to be the principal wisdom that leads and guides the life of a believer.
I'll end with this Word found in Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
"But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to be born again into God's Kingdom, that is saved and have a personal relationship with God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to say this confession with me:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, YOU'VE BEEN REDEEMED by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen. In case you do not already, please join a church community and get water baptized!
