Father, we thank you for this day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. Father, may Your Word be written on our hearts and may You open up the eyes of our understanding as we read and receive this Word in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Praise LORD family. I have been sharing on Jesus, as the Good Shepherd. There cannot be a door without a Shepherd. Today, I would like to share on Jesus as the open door sent by God for His people. In case this is the first time, you are reading about this series, I will give a brief background. Under the law, they were intermediaries between God and the people. What this means is that God did not have a direct relationship with the people. For instance, the law which included the ten commandments was given by God to the leader of the children of Israel who was Moses at the time and later the high priests who belonged to the tribe of the Levites would bring the people's requests before God and vice versa. Under the old covenant, only specific people who were anointed by the Spirit of the LORD had this special privilege of communing with God as God did not have a personal relationship with the people.
Under the new Testament, God sends His beloved Son, Jesus who is the Way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). When Jesus came to the world, His number one purpose is to reconcile humanity back to the Father where humanity could all experience a personal relationship with God without human intermediaries. So we see a shift where now this salvation that was initially for the salvation of the Jews is now for everyone who will believe and call on the name of Jesus (Romans 10:10). As a result of the new covenant we have in Christ Jesus, God, the Father now lives among His people and He says to us in Hebrews 10:16-17 (NKJV) "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them," then He adds, "their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."
When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He is the Person who opens doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) concerning the plans and purposes that He has for all His children.
At the same time, in John 10:9 NKJV, we see Jesus is not only the Person who opens the door that no man can shut, He is the actual door. He says, "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture."
So if Jesus is the door, what does this mean for the life of a believer? - It means abide in the Word of God. Isaiah 55:1-2 NKJV says, "Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance."Jesus is saying to us that an abundant life starts with a healthy soul that is cultivated by abiding in His Word and He is the open door to the abundant life. As the open door, Jesus says in John 14:13-14 NKJV "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name I will do it." - Amen.
Jesus reminds us in John 15:4 (NKJV)
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: When you receive Jesus Christ, the Son of God, you have the privilege of Christ, the hope of glory living on the inside of you and becoming a child of God. This happens after you give your life to Christ and become born again which means all your sins are forgiven, washed away and you receive the free gift of eternal life and every blessing of God found in Christ.
If this sounds like you, please repeat this prayer after me;
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
