The law, grace and truth (21)

Father, we thank you for this day that You have made. We were glad when they told us, let us go to the house of the LORD. Thank you for the gift of a place of worship. As always, we ask for open hearts to receive and understand Your Word in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

In a previous post titled the law, grace and truth (19), I shared on the importance of receiving the love of the Father, God and this post is related to it. We also saw that God's love is consistently reflected through the law and also through grace and truth that is received by faith in Jesus Christ.

In the gospels where we see Jesus' ministry, we notice that majority of His ministry was focussed on the Jews. When speaking to a Gentile woman whose daughter was demon possessed, Jesus told her He had been sent to the lost sheep of Israel (Matthew 15:24) which showed us the heart of His ministry. Nevertheless, He still healed her daughter.

When we look at the Old Testament, we see the Jews had a revelation of God's love for them. When Jesus met Gentiles who expressed great faith in Him, He was amazed by their faith because they barely had a revelation of the Father's love for them unlike the Jews. No one needs to tell a Jewish person 'God loves you'. As Abraham's seed, they grew up with the awareness of this love, they were raised in it and witnesssed God's salvation and deliverance from the hand of their enemies all through generations. They know the LORD God's love for them as their Father.

On the other hand, we Gentiles are able to know of God's love for us through the revelation of Christ. The full and complete revelation of Christ is witnessed in His death on the cross, burial in the tomb, resurrection from the dead and ascension to heaven. In Christ's resurrection is the forgiveness of sin which is evidence of God's love for the world.

Jesus in John 3:16 NKJV tells us, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Jesus' ministry started at 30 years of age and it is reported that it lasted about three years. Jesus' ministry started with the Jews first, not because He did not love the rest of Gentile world. Rather, we see that it was because the Jews already had a revelation of God's love for them. Moses tells the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 4 to ensure that they observe God's commandments. He continues to remind them, "For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the LORD our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?" (Deuteronomy 4:7 NKJV)

We see then that the law was a foundation of the Father's love revelation concerning the children of Israel which is fulfilled and completed in Christ. Romans 10:4 NLT says, "For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God." So Jesus came to first complete that which was already started by God in His people through the law .

Now if you are a Jew and you are reading this, I do not have to teach you about God's love, because I believe with God's help, you already know it. However, God is reminding you that as much as He loves you, His love for you is not complete without accepting the free gift of eternal life that is found in His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

Today, salvation is found in the name of Jesus and for everyone, including Gentiles, whoever will receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, will be born again into God's Kingdom and become a son/daughter of God.

I believe we are currently living in the times like David spoke in 1 Samuel 17:47 that the "...LORD does not save with sword and spear for the battle is the LORD's..."

In Psalm 20:7 NKJV which is also known as Psalm of David says to us, "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the LORD our God." David during his time as king of Israel fought wars and won great victories because his trust was in the name of the LORD and God was with him. Unlike their enemies, David and his army never used fancy horses and chariots but they had God.

In order to receive eternal life and the free gift of salvation that is found in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, please say this prayer with me;

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.

HALLELUJAH, PRAISE GOD! YOU ARE OFFICIALLY REDEEMED. PLEASE FIND A CHURCH AND GET WATER BAPTIZED!

I'll end with this Word found in John 12:44-47 (NKJV)

"44.Then Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me.

45.And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.

46.I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.

47.And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world."

Amen, thank you LORD.
