The LORD God says in Ezekiel 18:27-28 (NKJV)
27."Again, when a wicked man turns away from the wickedness which he committed, and does what is lawful and right, he preserves himself alive.
28.Because he considers and turns away from all the transgressions which he committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
29.Yet the house of Israel says, 'the way of the Lord is not fair. O house of Israel, is it not My ways which are fair, and your ways which are not fair?"
AMEN, thank you LORD.
In the above passage, the LORD God is speaking through the prophet Ezekiel to His people, the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob with whom He has covenant with. By God's grace, God's Word applies to us as it does to them because God is no respecter of persons. In the above Scripture, we see the expression of the LORD's lovingkindness towards His people. It would be difficult to for one to know they are truly loved if there was no corresponding action shown towards them. Thankfully, God chooses to love in spite of man's sin, iniquity and transgression because kindness is a choice and an action fuelled by love. Psalm 103:8 (NKJV) reminds us, "The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy."
Often times, the enemy may present sin as enticing but he omits the part where the pleasure is temporary with an end that always leads to death. The LORD reminds us in John 10:10, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
Sin is also an excess weight and is burdensome to the human soul. This is not God's heart for you. In Ezekiel 18:32 NKJV, the LORD continues to say, "For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,"says the LORD God. "Therefore turn and live!"God desires for you to be free from unnecessary weights and to find comfort in His presence. This aligns with the LORD's expression of lovingkindness that is found in His Beloved Son, Jesus. When God sent Jesus, He gave everything He had. Jesus in His wisdom says to come to Him all who are weary and heavy laden and He will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30).
Jesus Christ is the evidence of God's lovingkindness in action, that is, "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:17 NKJV). Christ is the full expression of God's heart that longs to do good to everyone. To this effect, Jesus reminds us in John 6:37 that He will by no means cast away anyone who comes to Him.
Invitation to receive salvation: If you would like to receive of the LORD's lovingkindness and personally experience His goodness towards you, I invite you to make this confession with me;
I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever." AMEN
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
As a new believer, I urge you to let your Pastor know that you took the confession of faith or if you don't have one, become a part of a church. I also encourage you to get water baptised as soon as possible and get yourself a physical copy of the Bible or download the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one! GOD BLESS YOU.
