Father God, we praise Your holy name, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. We thank you for Jesus Christ, the same one yesterday, today and forever. May your name forever be exalted over all the ends of the earth in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Nahum 1:7 (NKJV)
"The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Today's Word is a reminder of the LORD's protection in the day of trouble for His people. The Hebrew meaning of stronghold is similar to the dictionary meaning, that is they both refer to a stronghold as a fortified place or an elevated place of refuge to defend against the enemy's attacks. So when the LORD says He is good and a stronghold in the day of trouble, it means that He ensures that He keeps you safe and well protected from every scheme of the enemy.
In the New Testament, after the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, we see the LORD fortify the blessing of protection over His people through His Son, Christ. When you become born again by receiving Christ as your Lord and Savior, Ephesians 2:5-7 (NKJV) speaks of God's work and says, "But God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."
As a child of God, the LORD is not only Your stronghold, He also says to you that you are now seated with Christ in heavenly places far above every work of darkness (Ephesians 1:21). What a blessing!
1 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV) confirms this privilege you have as a son and daughter of God and says, "who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him."
Prayer: Father, thank you that You have made us alive together with Christ and by grace we have been saved. Thank you Father that we are one with Christ and the same power that raised Christ from the dead is the same power that is at work on the inside of us and has raised us to sit together with Christ Jesus far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named in this age. Thank you LORD for the grace to live and walk in this truth all the days of our long healthy lives in the name of Jesus, Amen.
I'll end with this Word found in Ephesians 5:29-30 (NKJV)
"For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know God as Your Father where you become His child and restored into fellowship with Him through a personal relationship with His One and Beloved Son, Jesus where your sins are forgiven - I invite you to say this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, YOU'VE BEEN REDEEMED by the precious blood of Jesus. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen. In case you do not already, please join a church community and get water baptized!
