The risen Christ

Abba Father, this is the day that You have made, we are glad and rejoice in it. Thank you for your mercies that are new every morning, thank you LORD for hope that comes with a new day and the breaking of dawn. Thank you LORD God that in Your presence is the fullness of joy and pleasures forever more at Your right hand. As the Word goes forth, may it bear fruit in our lives in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Luke 20:30-38 (NKJV)

  1. "And the second took her as wife and she died childless.

  2. Then the third took her; and in like manner the seven also; and they left no children, and died.

  3. Last of all the woman died also.

  4. Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife does she become? For all seven had her as wife."

  5. Jesus answered and said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage.

  6. But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage;

  7. nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

  8. But even Moses showed in the burning bush passage that the dead are raised, when he called the Lord 'the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.'

  9. For He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Today's post is about the risen Christ. Jesus' death on the cross is important to reflect and meditate on just like His resurrection. During Jesus' earthly ministry, a certain sect of the religious leaders, the Sadducees, did not believe in the resurrection of the dead so the above conversation is very important.

In the epistles, Apostle Paul showed this was problematic because if the dead do not rise then Jesus did not rise from the dead as well which would mean that we are still in our sins. (1 Corinthians 15:16-17). He continued to say, "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable." This truth is funny but I believe Apostle Paul was highlighting the importance of the revelation of Jesus' resurrection to a child of God. In Christ's resurrection was His victory over death, hell and the grave (Revelation 1:18).

In Christ's resurrection is our victory as the One who has conquered every power of darkness. In Christ's victory, we live and are alive just like He is alive (1 Corinthians 15:22) reigning on the throne of God forever more and we reign with Him (Romans 5:17) because we died and our lives are hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). The death that Jesus is speaking of here is not a physical death but a death to the flesh and every form of carnality. Every born again child of God is literally. apart of the resurrection life because we were raised by the very power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead and the life we live, we live to God.

As children of God, we are able to live unto God because in Christ's resurrection is the victory over sin. Romans 6:10-11 says, "For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

I'll end with this Word found in John 1:12-13 (NKJV)

  1. "But as many has received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God to those believe in his name:

  2. who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of man, but of God."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to be born again into God's Kingdom, that is saved and have a personal relationship with God as Your Father and you as His child by receiving His Son, Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, I invite you to say this confession with me:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, YOU'VE BEEN REDEEMED by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen. In case you do not already, please join a church community and get water baptized!
