To be with

Father God, thank you for this is the day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. We thank you for the grace to be able to draw from the well of salvation with joy in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Do you know that God desires to be with you? To shower you with His goodness and love as His child? One of the people in Bible who appears to understand this well was Mary, Martha's sister. In the gospel of Luke 10:38-42 is a story of two sisters who loved Jesus and Jesus loved them as well. One day when Jesus was visiting, Martha complained to Jesus that only she was doing the chores because Mary was not offering much help. Mary was doing one thing which was sitting at Jesus' feet and listening to His every word. In Luke 10:41-42 (NKJV), "And Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."

When you consider the garden of Eden, the desire for God to be with is not new. Adam and Eve were in complete union and oneness with God during their time in the garden of Eden. However, this communion between God and the first Adam was interrupted when the enemy introduced sin which broke the fellowship between man and God.

Nevertheless, God never stop desiring to be with His creation and Jesus is the proof.  2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) says, "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

Such a powerful and mighty God yet humble enough to dwell and live among men all because He never wants to be separated from us, His creation. So when God says, "...He will never leave nor forsake you" (Deuteronomy 31:8 & Hebrews 13:5), it is not simply a promise, He means it with every part of His being because you are a part of Him and love desires to be with.

However, are you like Martha, who is caught with all the busy schedules of life or are you like Mary who is choosing that good part which is to be with God and sit under His Word and receive of His love and His fullness? In God's fullness and love is everything needed for your life. Granted, life may sometimes be busy with different demands. At the same time, the only person with the ability to change your schedule and intentionally make more room for God is you. No other person can help you do this.

Prayer: Father God, thank you that you desire to be with us just like you have placed it in our hearts as well to be with You. So we ask for the help and wisdom of the Holy Spirit to enable us create room for Your presence in our different schedules today and all the days of our lives. Help us Holy Spirit to not get caught up in busy routines that are void of Your presence in the name of Jesus. May Your sons and daughters receive the grace to sit under the Word, to be in communion with You LORD while productive in every other area of their lives as well in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

I'll end with this Word found in Proverbs 12:28 (NKJV)

"In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know this God who from the beginning of creation has always desired for you to be holy, free and restored in relationship with Him through His One and Only Son Jesus Christ - whose faithful promises are yes and amen, whose mercy and love endures forever, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
