Father, we come in agreement and thank you that the entrance of Your Word brings light. May Your Word be the lamp onto our feet and a light to our paths in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Acts 10:34-35 (NKJV)
"Then Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.
But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. "
Amen, thank you LORD.
These words are spoken by Apostle Peter are during one of the most notable times in Scripture where the gospel is spread to a Gentile called Cornelius. Acts 10:2 tells us that this Cornelius was a devout man who feared God with all of his household, generously gave to the poor and always prayed to God. One day, during Cornelius' time of prayer, an angel of the Lord came to him and said to him that his prayers and alms have come up for a memorial before God. (Acts 10:4). Then the Angel of the Lord proceeds to tell him, "Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter."(Acts 10:5). Peter, an apostle of the early church was meant to guide Cornelius according to the Word of God.
The verses above in Acts 10:34-35 show us Peter's amazement that salvation was no longer just for the Jews but the whole world as God had originally planned it from the beginning as seen in John 3:16-17. I'm amazed that when God told Cornelius his prayers had come up as a memorial before Him, I believe God granted Cornelius a request his heart needed but one that may have been unknown to his understanding at the time. This is because Cornelius' love and fear for God was searching for something deeper. Most times, it is may be easy to think you know what you want, though Cornelius' story shows us that God knows what we need better than we do. God also has better plans for our lives and His plans are always good.
Still in the book of Acts was a lame man who sat at the gate called Beautiful asking for money from the people who entered the temple (Acts 3:2). When the Apostles John and Peter saw him, I believe they exercised God's heart. That is, they recognized this man's greatest need was not money, it was obtaining healing. Peter said to him, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, raise up and walk (Acts 3:6) and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength to walk (Acts 3:7).
Friend, trust God with your life, continue to pray, continue to believe in God's goodness even when you may not have all the answers. God is faithful. The Creator of heaven and earth who created You will not mismanage your life. Thankfully, as your Creator, God knows you and He knows your needs better than you know yourself.
Since Cornelius gave God his heart, God in turn gave Cornelius His heart as well that is found in His Son, Christ. Romans 10:10 NKJV says, "For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Jesus Christ is the reminder of God's love and the perfect gift that He has given to the world (John 3:16).
I'll end with the word of the LORD found in Romans 9:25-26 (NKJV)
"As He says also in Hosea: "I will call them My people, who were not My people, and her beloved , who was not beloved."
And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not My people, there they shall be called sons of the living God."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: On that note, if you would like to know about God, the Father who from the beginning of creation has always loved you and desires to commune with you through a personal relationship with His only Son Christ by dwelling on the inside of you and to have eternal and everlasting life including all the blessings found in Christ Jesus - I invite you to make this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
CONGRATS, YOU ARE THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD! In case, you don't already, please join a church community and get water baptized.
